Dr. Paul Gibson
Dr. Gibson is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Calgary. He obtained his medical degree (1993) and Internal Medicine residency (1998) at the University of Manitoba, and then completed Fellowship training in Medical Disorders in Pregnancy at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, USA (2001). Dr. Gibson currently practices General Internal Medicine at Foothills Hospital in Calgary. He also provides inpatient Obstetric Medicine consultation at Foothills Hospital and conducts a weekly Medical Disorders in Pregnancy clinic.
Paul is Chairman of the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine (CSIM) Maternal Health Research Interest Group and the Pregnancy Subgroup of the Canadian Hypertension Education Project (CHEP). He has extensive recent experience, locally and nationally, speaking to Family Physicians, Obstetricians and fellow Internists about Medical Disorders in Pregnancy.

Dr. Olaf G. Aasland
Olaf Gjerløw Aasland took his medical degree (MD) at the University of Oslo in 1970. Having worked for several years in various clinical and administrative settings, mainly in alcohology, community medicine and psychiatry, he completed his Master of health administration degree (MHA) at the same university in 1990. From 1988 to 1992 he was special advisor at the Norwegian Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, and from 1992, director of the Research institute of the Norwegian Medical Association.
Dr. Aasland has, on several occasions, served as a temporary advisor to the WHO, mainly in the substance abuse field. From 1992 to 1999 he was a member of the WHO Expert Advisory Panel on Drug Dependence and Alcohol Problems. He is presently serving his second term as chairman of the board of program for health services research at The Norwegian Research Council. In 1996 he joined the staff of Department of Health Management and Health Economics as a part time professor.

Dr. Paul Gurland
Paul Gurland is a graduate of the University of Toronto Medical School (1978). He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training in Toronto FRCS(C) (1983). Since 1985 he has been on active staff at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga Ontario. He is a member of a busy OB/GYN group practice and has been the managing partner for the past 4 years. His practice includes involvement in the Level II High Risk Pregnancy Unit, endoscopic surgery and colposcopy. Dr. Gurland has served on the executive of the Ontario Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists ( 1997-2003), the executive of the Medical Staff Association of Credit Valley Hospital (2000-2003) and the Board of Governors of Credit Valley Hospital (2001-2003). |
Gregory Hilderman
Greg has been a partner in G2 Financial for the past 12 years and practicing comprehensive financial planning for the past 23. He is a Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant and has spent the past 15 years specializing in retirement, tax and estate planning. Greg has been instrumental in reshaping how numerous physician groups are compensated, with a focus on improving their current and future lifestyle. Some of the groups he has worked with include Neo-Natologists, Radiologists, Thoracic Surgeons, Neurologists and the Oncologists of Alberta and British Columbia. |
Peter Everett
Peter is Vice President, Planning Services with PPI Financial Group in Toronto. A tax lawyer, Peter graduated from McGill University Law School in 1977 and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Law Society of British Columbia. His practice is restricted to taxation, corporate reorganizations and life insurance tax and estate planning issues. He has completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-Depth Tax Course, a number of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants Income Tax Practice Courses, and the University of Western Ontario Law School Tax Course. Peter is also a conference speaker and has authored articles and presentations for legal, accounting and insurance professional groups. |
Dr. Zarko Vrbica
Dr. Vrbica is Head of the Pulmonology department, Internal ward, at Dubrovnik General Hospital in Croatia. He graduated from Medical School at the University of Belgrade, in 1988, and recently obtained his Masters’ Degree in Biomedicine from the University of Zagreb Medical School. He is a member of the Croatian medical association and has lectured at 5 expert congresses, including one abroad. |
